Just wanted to add this tip, for Challenge 3, as I couldn't find it myself either when I was looking for it. Just reach as high as possible in terms of income then be on the lookout for when the multiplication is super high. When you see a very high number (into the millions), then time travel exactly at that point. I was stuck in Challenge 3 for 2 days and I thought of this trick and immediatelly finished it after. Hope it helps others as well!
Fun concept. The four elements don't seem very balanced imo. Fire is by far the most useful and nothing even comes close. Lightning requires nonstop active play which is annoying. Rock is pretty bad in every aspect, and ice is kind of ok but either requires an autoclicker, the fire path already upgraded, or for it to be near maxed for it to have any use. I was hoping to unlock everything by the end but only managed to have maxed fire and partially maxed ice at the end. In the 3rd region, the elements aren't very strong and the game drags unless active play with an autoclicker is used. I think if 2 elemental points were given instead of 1 then I don't think it would be over powered and it would give more freedom to idle play of the game.
I know the game is still early in development but something needs to be done to help the idle aspect of this game. A good potential fix for this would be to have an autoclicker upgrade that works on large items. I think the autoclicker needs more buffs. even with everything maxed the idle gains are extremely small compared to just clicking a few large items. The autoclicker could be buffed x2 and that would help but I'm not even sure if that would make a dent. I'm think 90% of my idle gains are just from the fire element and nothing else. the autoclicker helped a little at the end, but seemed minimal in the 3rd region until almost all upgrades were purchased
Some of the missions are unbalanced and it was extremely annoying having to keep my game open in previous regions for multiple hours so I could unlock QoL upgrades that should have been in the game way sooner. Having to farm the upgrade to keep bottle/plate/mug upgrades was a nightmare and needs to be looked at because I was already in the 3rd region before I got it finished and having to spam buy all each reset was horrible.
I think there should be a "buy all" button on the main screen that I can click and have every available upgrade bought would be great (excluding hammer upgrades). This game feels more like a menu clicking simulator where each run has 90% of the time spent clicking between different item menu upgrades and then 10% of the time chilling to get more hammers at the end before another reset. The buy all button should be unlocked a lot sooner as well or should just be given at the start of the game.
I do like a lot of aspects of the game. I appreciate the cosmetic currency being abundant and able to be used for game skips. Most of the backgrounds make it hard to see things so I think they could be updated. Everything except the starting one and the sky one are unusable imo but maybe that's just me.
Everything else about the game is captivating and has relatively good balance. This game could be great if some of the above things get addressed in future development. I'd say currently this game starts out as a strong 8/10 and in the third region I'd probably rate it as a 5/10 due to the above.
I know this review sounds negative, but I wanted to provide input on things that this game could improve on. I really enjoyed my time playing it and look forward to it's future development.
Hey, thanks for the lenghty review, though most of these things are intentional design decisions.
The element tree is split between idle (fire/stone) and active (lightning/ice) elements, encouraging mixing, for example using fire to smash ice. It's not meant to be fully purchasable. I will look into having stone being more on par with fire though.
Not planning on having an auto smasher for big objects, since the point of idling is to earn less, and you can get a good chunk of big objects with the elements anyway, but.
This game is primarily on mobile, so it's designed around more active play with idle kept in mind.
For the third region, yeah, they're not very useful yet since there aren't enough upgrades, they are more used to slow down the objects and then smashing them with the elements, but yeah there'll be a x1.5 damage upgrade.
The bottle/plate/combo/mug upgrade is not meant to be completed fast or farmed, it's more like a reward for those who play really idle or just achieved after some time.
Partly agree with the menu clicking comment, there's auto buyers coming in the next update and overall future upgrades should require you to check the shop less. Just adding a general buy max button wouldn't really work since that'd just make the player not look at what they're buying and some upgrades are more useful than others.
There's a background dim setting and a setting for changing the smash text color - see if that helps.
Editing this because I thought more about the mission - will update it so it's a bit faster.
A bug: if you accidentally press ‘h’ (hide UI) while playing Simon, the game disappears and doesn’t reappear, losing your progress. (This is easy to do on a laptop that has a mouse between the b, g, and h keys.)
Nice Idle game, it has a surprising amount of content and the overall progression feels pretty good.
A few small gripes:
I wish the bonus was hammers earned rather than owned. It's very easy to click a shop item twice or otherwise miscalculate and torpedo your bonus. Also frustrating having to decide between the hammer bonus and buying something.
UI could use a little work, some elements could go into smaller side or top bars, to free up space in the main pane for clicking (without having to hide the whole UI). when buying something you can't see how much of that resource you have total.
Overall pretty good though, look forward to seeing updates.
Having to make the choice between keeping the bonus and buying something instead of just buying whatever is intentional, not sure what I can do about the misclicking though.
Upcoming update will have your current resource amount be visible when in shops.
Like some folks already said - you can get stuck hard on challenge 3. My advice to the dev would be to not change the challenge itself but add a note like: "At least 10E39 Hammers reccomended" or something. Also I hate this game for being so addicting.
The RNG aspect of challenge 3 is kind of annoying because 90% of the time your production is effectively zero, it doesn't matter if the mult is /100m or *1000, it only matters if it's over *1m, and on top of that you need to have mice to smash at that time too.
The worst part is that * is almost always worthless too, you need a big multiplier. It would be way better if it wasn't logarithmic randomness and instead just straightforward, or even some formula in between the two.
You should probably auto-transport players to the Kitchen when a challenge is started, I didn't realize I was in the Box-less Factory and thought the object spawn rates just inexplicably got massively nerfed haha
When disks but not mouses have been unlocked, pressing 8 brings up the disk shop, but when mouses are unlocked, 8 brings up the mouse menu
Also, is there any way to exit challenges? I got stuck on Challenge 3 and had to re-enter and complete Challenge 1 just to get back to normal gameplay and grind more hammers
I think i maybe reading into the 100 secret thing to much. Could someone point me in the right direction as to where i should be looking for said secret? Thanks <3
I'm not sure that the falling shards buff works - or perhaps not in the second location? I've checked many times now, and both boxes, and barrels, give the exact same amount of shards, regardless of if the buff is active, or not. Is this a bug or does the falling shards not do what the UI implies that it does?
The change hasn't happened yet. Someone else put up a tool to be able to export all the itch.io save data, though, for import whenever the change does happen, that is worth trying. https://crocmiam.itch.io/itch-localstorage-export-import
Itch's old CDN is shutting down soon and in-browser saves are going to be lost in the migration. Do you have the time and wherewithal to add a save export and import function to mitigate that?
The ice element seems really unappealing compared to the others. It's active, but unlike lightning, it's targeted. Lightning's big benefit is that you can target the most valuable things, ice doesn't have that but still needs active play (or the obscenely expensive upgrade to make it like fire lite).
Most of the later element upgrades also don't seem all that valuable. Basic lightning + fire or fire + rock without any of the outer upgrades seems like the way to go.
Which hammer upgrade did the "smash falling gems" mission unlock? It seemed like nothing happened after I finished the mission. Additionally, there's a hammer upgrade that has something to do with Ads, but there's nowhere to watch them
Hitting a timewall grinding Hammers to start getting the multiplicative Fragments / Shards upgrades (~e10 Hammers). I can make pretty good headway into the Barrel upgrades but getting the bonus hammer gain upgrades in the Box Fragments menu is kind of a slog. Am I doing something wrong, or is everyone facing this timewall?
Fantastic game! Very fun loop of smashing things and very varied upgrades to keep things interesting. Unfortunately, I just lost my save data. I was a few days in, unlocked Mug Fragments and had a bunch of the Skill Tree unlocked too. Might want to look into a means of exporting the save file so we can save it locally. Either way fantastic done game!
That's weird, I thought I had fixed most of the problems with loading the save data. Did you not get a popup about losing your save data when you loaded the game and it had disappeared?
Didn't get a pop-up or anything like that. The game was saving and loading fine for a few days, then it was just gone, starting over from scratch. Nothing can really be done about it. But I don't mind replaying it, just gonna make sure not to close the tab in Chrome this time.
That's rerally weird, the popup would've shown up if your file has corrupted, the fact that it didn't implies that it got deleted. I suppose this could've happened, but it's weird that it's happening to so many people. Are you sure you haven't deleted your cookies or anything like that?
clicker game = shit game. make your idle mechanic not fucking trash, or put some effort into making something other than "franticly click the moving buttons"
I spent most of my prestige currency to unlock new locations and... you can't use them until you get back to where you were before prestige. Okay fine. So I finally saved up enough currency to unlock the factory and... there's nothing there. Argh.
I have boxes in the factory. There is an upgrade that shows up after I went to it the first time, but I went back to the first area to get more money to afford the first few box upgrades.
can we get a new mech in the net update where you grind ur way to the setting to turn of the particles to reduse the lag ( please add it , not the grindy part , the option one ) im talking about the android version btw .. maybe this one could use the same update ?

fuckin hell what is wrong with you? why does it take hundreds of clicks to START being able to idle in a game with fucking "idle" in the title?
This has been a bug with loading an empty save file - it has been fixed.
PLS STOP CUSSING
owner i love you

im sorry i stop

This game is absolutely smashing!
The dev crushed it with the art style and the game play shattered by expectations.
I would be heart broken if the dev stops/has stopped working on this/
How do i access simon after closing it, i can't find it anywhere, i did have it unlocked
you have to wait for another

Do the unlocks under the rainbow tab do anything or they are purely cosmetic?
Great game, the feling of progresion is so great, im currently in mugs but probabily i will update this coment when i beat the game
All hammer upgrades bought, time to play the Challenge 2 until I max out the elements or a new update comes =w=
I forgot to get the shards related achievements... Big Smash time...
Like some folks already said - you can get stuck hard on challenge 3. My advice to the dev would be to not change the challenge itself but add a note like: "At least 10E39 Hammers reccomended" or something. Also I hate this game for being so addicting.
It says hammer benefit is capped at 100E33%. How does having 10E39 help?
The RNG aspect of challenge 3 is kind of annoying because 90% of the time your production is effectively zero, it doesn't matter if the mult is /100m or *1000, it only matters if it's over *1m, and on top of that you need to have mice to smash at that time too.
I agree, very annoying. I got to mice and I'n stuck at 7,45E99 shards for last 20 minutes. I almost constantly get / instead of *
The worst part is that * is almost always worthless too, you need a big multiplier. It would be way better if it wasn't logarithmic randomness and instead just straightforward, or even some formula in between the two.

I can't find a way to unlock the tech store? It's unclear how to progress.
Sooo... 9 months later... How do I get the 100 Secret thing? And the "Requires some tapping" thing?
Click on the last achievement from the last tab, then click more 100 time
rip all my pogress
I think i maybe reading into the 100 secret thing to much. Could someone point me in the right direction as to where i should be looking for said secret? Thanks <3
how to open missions?
where is a secret?
man i have spent alot of time on this
i have a problem :'(
The best combo of elements are fire and water and electricity i wouldnt get until you have alot of the fire and alittle bit of the water upgraded
Dude why is it so hard to pogress into the second area i cant ever get shards in it
I'm not sure that the falling shards buff works - or perhaps not in the second location? I've checked many times now, and both boxes, and barrels, give the exact same amount of shards, regardless of if the buff is active, or not. Edit: Nope, not limited to the 2nd location.
Has been fixed
Ty - I've had the game completed for a few days, but look forward to new content, eventually. :)
You know this is a good game to play when your doing homework or watching a show/movie,its also has offline earnings so you dont have to play it. 8/10
Welp they didn't get the save stuff in it seems, time to start all over.
The change hasn't happened yet. Someone else put up a tool to be able to export all the itch.io save data, though, for import whenever the change does happen, that is worth trying. https://crocmiam.itch.io/itch-localstorage-export-import
Well then its a bug on their end then game wise, cause my data was wiped and seems like the person below lost heirs to
It's probably a bug in the game - some fixes have been added regarding that.
And an import/export feature has been added.
Itch's old CDN is shutting down soon and in-browser saves are going to be lost in the migration. Do you have the time and wherewithal to add a save export and import function to mitigate that?
Thanks for notifying me, I'll look into that
Unfortunately, it looks like my save data is gone. Which sucks, because I was pretty far in...
I'm sorry about that - some fixes regarding save data disappearing have been added.
And an import/export setting has been added as well.
Really good game! Been playing for hours ):

It unlocks common gems, with all the price decreases it's 3e24 in the hammer shop, might not be visible yet if you have under 3e21 hammers.
The ad upgrade is for mobile only and it's an oversight that it's on itch. It'll be removed.
100 Secrets??? There are 100 secrets in the game?
It's meant to be an ominous clue rather than a sentence that's interpreted literally
I don't get it. I think most people are going to interpret it literally because there's nothing to indicate that they shouldn't take it literally.
I'll rephrase it a bit so it'd be more obvious

Never mind, I just needed to push to unlock Element missions and now it's going a little more smoothly

tf bro this guy made this game for people who enjoy idle games if you did not like the game then just leave lol
wrong. they made it for people who enjoy trash tier clicker garbage, not idle games.

very good game
